Sixty-four years on F Street
We have sold some of these houses three times.

Chapter I
1962
Astrid opens the office above the hardware store on F Street.
Two desks, one telephone, and a hand-lettered sign that is still in the back room.
Chapter II
1974
The first daughter, Karin, joins after the mine closes.
The practice sells the miners' cottages on the east side, one by one, to the families who stayed.
Chapter III
1988
The river becomes the front yard.
The whitewater park is still a drawing, but Karin starts buying the lots along the Arkansas for clients who believe her.
Chapter IV
2003
The second daughter, Lena, brings the ranches.
Chaffee County acreage, water rights, and the first buyers from out of state who wanted to stay.

2015
The granddaughters.
Maja and Elin take the desks. The sign comes down from the back room and goes on the door.
